Kois are symbols of good luck. The strong and hardy nature of kois have led them be associated with everything that's positive, including good fortune, success, prosperity, courage, ambition, perseverance, and longevity. Legend has it there was once a koi fish that swam upstream, braving waterfalls and various obstacles to reach the mountain top. When it finally got there, it transformed into a dragon—one of the most auspicious creatures in Asian folklore. Branden painted My Yellow Koi when he was 7 years old, in remembrance of the yellow koi in our pond. It was his favourite one!

I purchased a small print of My Yellow Koi specifically to hang up in my room. I was immediately drawn to the colours and the story of this piece and knew I had to have it. Very pleased with the quality of this print and its frame (white). Have really enjoyed the past week of waking up to this bright piece and the happy koi swimming in their pond.
